2008 skyscraper festival rules

1. To enter the competition submit your entry together with your name, e-mail address and contact number in the spaces provided on the 2008 skyscraper festival site [‘the Website'] at http://hyptv.com/skyscraper
2. Entry to the competition is conditional upon acceptance of these terms and conditions. By clicking on the Submit button you will be deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
3. Each entrant may submit an original video or animation of twenty five seconds duration. All entries should comply with the brief together with further instructions as to content set out on the Website. Multiple entries will be accepted to a maximum of three (3) per person.
4. To be eligible, entries must be uploaded onto the Website before the closing date of 11.59pm GMT on Sunday 29th June 2008. City Gateway Media and their directors, officers and representatives are not responsible for contacting entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, delayed, damaged or destroyed. City Gateway Media is not responsible for any failure of the Website during the competition including any telephone or technical malfunction which may cause damage to any other person's computer or entry or affect a person's ability to participate in the competition.
5. Entrants must be over 18. This competition is not open to employees of City Gateway Media and HYPtv or their relatives or families or anyone connected with the competition.
6. Submissions must be in English and should be of twenty five seconds duration.
7. By entering this competition each entrant warrants and represents that his/her entry is their wholly-owned original creation and that they have the right to grant non-exclusive broadcast, publicity and other media and publication rights in it to City Gateway Media. Each entrant further warrants their entry contains no defamatory or obscene material and it is not an infringement of copyright or any other intellectual property right or law and it does not invade the privacy or confidentiality or any other right of any third party. Entrants will indemnify City Gateway Media against any legal claims or actions resulting from a breach or alleged breach of the above warranties in relation to their entry.
8. By submitting an entry, entrants grant to City Gateway Media a non- exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce, edit, distribute, publish, transmit their entry without time limit by all means and in any media now known or hereinafter invented.
9. City Gateway Media has the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions or that is otherwise suspected of failing to comply with the fairness and integrity of this competition.
10. By entering the competition, entrants agree to use of their names and image by City Gateway Media for the purposes of publicity without further consent or payment.
11. The e-mail address and phone number you provide will be used to contact entrants who are have requested support, festival news or are shortlisted and will only be shared with festival co-organizers, Believe The Hype Limited (HYPtv). City Gateway Media will only use your e-mail address in accordance with our privacy policy and the Data Protection Act 1998
12. The shortlist will comprise the twenty five most highly-rated entries. In the event of more than 25 entries having the same high rating the number of ratings at that rating will be taken into consideration. In the event of a tie after that, the submission with the highest number of views will win. Shortlisted entrants will be notified by e-mail on Tuesday 1st July 2008.
13. All shortlisted entries will be submitted to the panel of judges who will select the overall winner by Friday 4th July 2008. See the festival homepage for a current list of judges. The winner will notified by e-mail/telephone on Monday 7th July 2008.
14. Subject to the discretion of City Gateway Media, the winning entries may be broadcast on the Manchester skyscraper. There is, however, no obligation to broadcast the winning entries. The overall winner will be entitled to a daily showcase of the winning entry and, if they so wish, after the first week, one new upload every week for 25 weeks. The other shortlisted entrants will be entitled to a daily showcasing of their entry on the Manchester skyscraper screen for one week each within six months of the winning entry being broadcast.
15. The decision of the competition judges is final. The prize must be accepted as awarded. City Gateway Media reserves the right to amend the specification of the prize although every effort will be made to ensure that any alternative prize is of a similar nature and value. If a selected shortlist entrant does not meet all the terms and conditions another entrant will be selected.
16. The right is reserved to cancel, suspend, terminate or withdraw the competition at any time.
17. City Gateway Media and HYPtv have organised this competition in good faith and do not accept any liability relating to the prize.
These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
